Rhythm City receives the highest viewership of a local soap in etv history.

In June 2009, Rhythm City will be celebrating two years of broadcasting success. In a relatively short time, Rhythm City has cultivated a loyal fan base and achieved soaring AR’s which this month reached 14.4 for a local viewership of over three million people, giving Rhythm City the highest viewership of a local soap in e.tv history.

Rhythm City has become a local television favorite with fans and has received multipule industry awards from the 2009 South African Film and Television Awards including Best Actor for Villan Jamie Bartlett as David Genero, Best Supporting Actor for Mduduzi Mabaso as Suffocate, Besting Writing Team and Best Art Direction in a soapie.

Curious Pictures produces the daily youth drama Rhythm City, which airs on etv at 6:30 pm Monday to Friday. The drama, which focuses on the up’s and down’s of South Africa’s music industry is South Africa’s fastest growing soap opera reaching over three million people every day.
