Class Act Winner

South Africa's First Class Act is announced.

Class Act viewers have voted Sdumo Mtshali as SA's next leading man. The winner of Class Act was announced live on air on Saturday evening during the grand finale on SABC1.

The last nine weeks have been an emotional journey for the top ten finalists that battled it out for the opportunity to be named SA's next leading man. Enduring long days of shooting scenes for the live shows and taking part in acting classes and workshops with leading figures from South Africa's film industry. Every Saturday, during the live show, they have had to accept the criticism from the judges, which at times was brutal, revel in the compliments, and quiver at the thought of who would be eliminated each week. But it was the passion and commitment shown by Sdumo, together with his acting talents which improved week on week that saw him ultimately win the contest.

Winning Class Act, and the passion and commitment that he has shown to the craft of acting will ensure that his star will shine bright. Sdumo, who hails from Montclair in KZN, lands the lead role in a new feature film to be directed by Donovan Marsh, produced by Curious Pictures with executive producer Tendeka Matatu of Ten10 Films. He will also star in a new Amstel television commercial, attend an 8 week course at the New York Film Academy in the US, and receive representation from SA's foremost actors' agent, Moonyeenn Lee of MLA.

Ghetto Dangerous, the working title of the feature film that Sdumo will star is due to go into production later this year, and will be released in the first half of 2011. The new Amstel television advertisement with Sdumo in the lead will launch on national television on June 12th 2010.
